The ICA aims to study and inherit the essence of Confucianism and other Chinese traditional cultural philosophies, foster exchanges and facilitate mutual learning between Chinese civilization and other civilizations of the world, for building a community with a shared future for humanity, promoting world peace, and advancing human civilization.
International Studies on Confucianism was founded in 2021, under the auspices of the International Confucian Association, and co-sponsored by the International Confucian Association and Tsinghua University. Professor Chen Lai serves as the director of the editorial board, and Professor Zhong Weimin is the chief editor. In 2023, the journal was included in the CSSCI (Chinese Social Science Citation Index) Expanded Edition Source Journal (2023-2024).

International Confucian Studies (English), first launched in 2022, is co-sponsored by the International Confucian Association and Beijing Foreign Studies University, and co-published by De Gruyter and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. Zhao Gang, Vice President of Beijing Foreign Studies University, serves as the Editor-in-Chief, and Zhang Siying as the associate editor.
